FOLK NEWS

Well, with the move from Glen, Grabhair to Nis, out of the way, here is some news:

Harbottle & Jonas

Harbottle & Jonas have released their new single The Beacon, you can check out the new video below.

The album will be released on the 26th March 2021, so sadly we have to wait for the follow up to ‘The Sea is my Brother’ (Ed: The album James tried to convince us came out in 2020, so he could vote for it as Album of the Year again!).

We described ‘The Sea is my Brother’ as a ‘masterpiece’ and ‘the new benchmark of English Folk’, we still feel nothing has come close since, so our excitement levels are sky high for their new album.

Check out their website for pre-orders, HERE

Damh the Bard

Y Mabinogi - The Third Branch is now out. For those who are unaware or wish for more information, Damh the Bard is retelling the four branches of Y Mabinogi, which are the earliest recorded stories in British literature.

You can find out more and order them via Damh’s website HERE

Edgelarks

New album coming on the 11th of December 2020, the single Greenwood Laddie is fantastic, so we are looking forward to that. More information over on their website HERE

James would like to ask next time you are over on the Isle, please do a gig, oh and Lewis is better than Harris!

Peat & Diesel

Peat & Diesel have released more information about their 2021 tour, most of which is sold out! I didn’t get tickets to the Skye gig, so got to do something else for my birthday, I guess.

My point is hurry up and book a ticket before it’s to late for you as well.

It’s December so let’s all listen to this again, because it’s awesome!

Green Heron

One of our favourite bands/duets are doing a livestream this Sunday at 16:00hrs, so get your requests in.

Ours are ‘New Pair of Shoes’ and a good old-fashioned Bluegrass version of ‘I Believe in Santa Claus’ please. Details are HERE

Will Hatch & Co

New music coming from Will Hatch, we got to listen to a preview and it’s really good. Our review is HERE and for more information have a wee look HERE

Annie Dressner

Annie’s amazing new album Coffee at the Corner Bar is one of the best albums this year and now you can get a copy on vinyl. So, if you are looking to buy a Christmas gift for yourself or someone (or both), you can grab one HERE

Have a great day, Peace & Love from all of us here. We are now located in Nis (Port of Ness), so if you're nearby come round for a cuppa. Haste Ye Back.
